Making Stuff: Shopping Bag

by This is Carrie on June 20, 2008

I’ve made a few shopping bags in the past year. I quite like giving them as gifts. I hope people like getting them as gifts.

This one was made for Princesses’ Kindergarten Teacher as a goodbye gift. Unlike my previous bags, this one is finished with binding, has a wider base and includes an inner pocket, making it perfect to take to the Farmer’s Market–a place I know her teacher loves as much as we do.

I cut it from one of the many Indian tablecloths that were gifted to me my my awesome neighbor (not the the one with the fake lawn, the one who gave me this cool gift). She knew I would have fun making them into many other things. And she’s right.

I just noticed I cut it with the elephants upside down. I hope it’s not bad Indian luck.

I LOVE the bag I got from you, and I get compliments on it constantly. I’m considering etsy-ing myself another one to match. 🙂 These are great gifts, keep it up!
