I Am an Accompanist

by This is Carrie on July 27, 2008

I’m not that good of a piano player when I have advanced notice (and I’m able to see my fingers). So imagine how good I was when I stepped in at a moment’s notice as Primary accompanist at church without a line of sight to my hands because Baby Brother was strapped to my front in the Baby Bjorn. I told the kids they better sing really loud to drown out all my missed notes.

ha! I don’t think I have EVER heard or seen you attempt the piano…how can this be?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone play the piano with a baby strapped to them- lbaby brother was probably kicking along to the tempo

I just recently had an eye exam at Costco with my baby strapped to me – it was a bit ackward but the only babysitter I could find was only 12

HA! I filled in during Primary today too, and I was commenting to Andy afterward that playing in Primary is not for the faint of heart…the songs aren’t beginner and you get no notice…I think I did 15 songs with literally 5 seconds to look up the page number…good for you! I didn’t even know you played!

kage – are you sure you haven’t seen me at least attempt to play the piano? That is weird. In Queens I actually played a couple times for the spanish branch sacrament meeting. THe only way I could do it is if I picked the songs – no sharps or flats.

mommymita- baby brother was sound asleep (which is why i didn’t pass him off to someone while I played).
