Celebrating the Day of the Dead

by This is Carrie on November 3, 2008

This year, the girls especially wanted to remember Nana in hopes her spirit might come for a little visit. We stacked the shrine with her some of her favorite things to eat and drink (cinnamon toast and heavy cream) and talked about our favorite memories.

So cool you guys are getting back to your Mexican roots and celebrating this holiday. I thought about celebrating this year, but I think the boys need to have a little better concept of “death” before it will have any kind of meaning. We’ll aim for next year….but without the cute skirts.

How perfect. I’m sure that she loved it.

I think it’s awesome that you celebrate this holiday. As bizarre as it might seem with all of the skulls and stuff, I think this is a very special holiday to remember loved ones.
