Pumpkin (age 3) recently came home from school with her lines for the upcoming preschool Christmas program.
Me: It looks like you need to practice your lines.
Pumpkin: Okay, I will do it by myself.
Me: I think I need to help you.
Pumpkin: No, by myself (she runs off with the half page script and mom is just happy she is entertaining herself.)
5 minutes later, Pumpkin returns: Look mom, I practiced my lines!
And so she did.
