A bit of advice from big sis (and former triathlete). Whenever I found a shoe that I really liked, I would by an extra pair (sometimes two if the price allowed). Shoe companies are always changing their shoe models, so you may not be able to find your favorite the next time you go shoe shopping. This was very frustrating for me because I have very hard to fit feet. Eventually you have to choose a new favorite, but at least not every 4-6 months. Happy running!...and swimming and cycling! By the way, I'm proud of you.

Often we see moms "running" around town in their fresh running shoes and you know they are not training for anything because wearing a shoe that is one size too big is not that cute.

Also your "training" shoes will sure to get super smelly, wet, and muddy and wear the marks of all the mileage you will put on them. They will become trophies themselves

But the sad fact is I haven't run more than a few 5 k's since my last marathon 11 years ago. To prove it my last pair of running shoes have actually lasted me 3 years and fit cute and snuggly for my outings to the park and leisurely walks in the mountains.

Keep blogging about this though and I may feel the vibe and start running once again - maybe when the snow melts
