Making Stuff: “Patriotic” Skirt

by This is Carrie on September 28, 2009

Spirit Day at school this month had a “Patriot’s Day” theme (not much of a stretch for a school who’s uniforms are red and navy).
Princess happily ditched her plain navy bottoms for this paperbag waisted skirt made from a piece from the ever-giving “estate sale jackpot” even though she reminded me it was really “primary colors” not “patriotic colors”. At least she’s learning something in art class.

I love that! My daughter's bday is the 4th of July and I am always in search of a birthday dress that is charmingly thematic, yet not overtly American. I wish I had a piece of that!

Whitney – If I had any more of it around I'd send it to you!

darling skirt! I LOVE the waist band – kinda wondering if I could pull off wearing a skirt like that…
