My First Athletic Trophy…ever

by This is Carrie on October 13, 2009

They said it was the “flattest, fastest, and ‘funnest’ 5K race in the world”, and they weren’t kidding.
The trophy came my way because no female “real” runners between the ages of 30-34 happened to show up to the race. But I hold it up with pride knowing I ran my personal best:
24:46 with a 7:58 mile average.
Booyah.

I'm proud you, sister! They say that breaking the 8 minute mile mark is the difference between a runner and jogger. Congratulations – you are a runner!

Wow – even if there were more entries, you would have still earned that trophy! I couldn't run that fast, even if a rabid dog were chasing me!

Girl, you broke an 8 minute mile. That officially makes you a REAL runner. Take that everybody! So proud of you 🙂
