Egg Nog and 7-Up

by This is Carrie on December 9, 2009

I look forward to this mixed drink for the non-drinker all year.
Wish the character on tv last night didn’t say “I just ran 5 miles this morning and now I’m drinking egg nog. It’s like a glass full of mayonnaise.”
Ugh.
So I tried the Light Egg Nog. Not worth it. I’ll live with my full-fat egg nog guilt.

I have never heard of that. Is it just a 1:1 ratio?

And I think I saw that too! Desperate Housewives?

I love the silk nog too! You should try it!

Another vote for silk nog. So tasty. They also have a pumpkin spice flavor.

Is it weird that I've gone my whole life without trying eggnog? I'm pretty sure I'm not missing out, but I am a little curious.

Also have not tried ( at least in the past 20 years), and not on my list of to-try. But I do love 7up….

I will have to try that… sounds slightly scary, but good. And I'm curious. Trying to imagine carbonated egg nog. And I have a quart of silk nog in my fridge right now. It really is good.

I'm confused. Does the lemon-lime really work? Would club soda work if you just wanted fizzy egg nog?

Oh, I'd try it, but I'm a little scared.

I grew up with using 7-up in egg nog, but in the past couple years I have sometimes used Ginger Ale. Hansen's Ginger Ale is particularly spicy which adds a nice flavor to the egg nog.

Never tried Club Soda. Try it and report.

I love egg nog…but did not as a child. It has only been an adult acquired taste.

But…I have recently discovered (like as of Sunday) a FANTASTIC new egg nog treat. A 1:1 ratio of egg nog to root beer. OH. MY. GOSH.

You will DIE. Try it. I insist. Some teenage girls I know raved about it and now I am hooked. Unfortunately 🙂

I love egg nog! I'll have to try this!

Azúcar December 9, 2009 at 9:06 pm

Sara might have something–like a rootbeer float kind of taste?

I'd SO be OK with that!

p.s. my dad makes the best homemade egg nog on earth.

What is the ratio of 7-up to egg-nog? I don't drink alchohol, it's nice to have something besides club soda 🙂
