Dresses for Uganda

by This is Carrie on February 18, 2010

I had such a great time last week teaching a group of wonderful teenage girls how to make t-shirt dresses.  It was great to see some of the girls who weren’t that excited about a “night of sewing” quickly become passionate about their little dress. The seven dresses they made will be taken to an orphanage in Uganda where they will make seven little girls very happy.

Wow! Not only teaching someone your trade, but teaching it to them for a good cause! A very inspiring post! Keep it up!

Thanks for the reminder to use our talents to help others. When I went shopping today I purposely searched the clearance section and found 6 girls shirts for $1 each, then headed over to the fabric department. The dresses will end up costing less than $3 each after I finish putting the skirt part on! I’m so excited ~ Thanks for the motivation!
