Back on the bike….FINALLY

by This is Carrie on March 16, 2010

Seems like it’s been ages since I’ve gone mountain biking. Even longer since I’ve gone with Todd. It was nice to get out with him and a few of our friends this past weekend and with an off-road triathlon just around the corner, it was high-time to get back into the groove. There was a […]

Making Stuff: Scripture Case

by This is Carrie on March 15, 2010

Love the bag style pattern & tutorial from HERE.  With some size and style tweaks, the scripture bag made from a large thrifted bedspread (a piece of fabric that just keeps on giving) was a perfect baptism gift for Princess’s BFF.

Kids Helping Kids Update

by This is Carrie on March 13, 2010

It’s been three months since Princess started her “Kids Helping Kids campaign and I am proud to report, with the help of neighbors, friends and online donations she has raised $135 so far.  We still have a few more months until the hospital “might” let her in to make the delivery (stinky flu season) and […]

by This is Carrie on March 9, 2010

After watching “Akeelah and the Bee”, Princess was determined to win her elementary school’s Second Grade Spelling Bee. As “The Bee” consumed more of her time and thoughts, family and friends began sharing their own Spelling Bee memories of years past, each person remembering their “out” word and how to spell it.  Todd’s downfall? “poisonous.” […]

Gifts for the Sewing Enthusiast: Nostalgic Tin Sign

by This is Carrie on March 9, 2010

When you are really “into” something you tend to get really interesting and creative gifts relating to that “thing” (just ask Elise of www.cupcakeactivist.com). This week I’m going to add to my list of “Gifts for the Sewing Enthusiast” Apparently my mom had been eyeing this tin sign for a long while and just knew […]

Eat. Blog. Run.

by This is Carrie on March 8, 2010

My next big running adventure is set for the first weekend in May. The course starts in Napa Valley, winds through Sonoma to Marin, through Sausalito, across the Golden Gate Bridge under a full moon, through San Francisco to Palo Alto and through Silicon Valley to the beach in Santa Cruz.  Luckily, I don’t have […]
