As an 8th grader, I went to the All-City bee and misspelled chocolate. I knew how to spell it, but went down on nerves. Thus ending my showbiz career.

In my eighth grade spelling bee, my downfall was the word taffeta or is it tafetta or maybe taffetta? Maybe you don’t necessarily never misspell it again LOL (oops, I looked and by the red underlining I see that I spelled it right the first time, here anyway).

Ha, cute. I have Akeelah & the bee in the netflix queue. I’ve got to move it up. I’m one of those people who need to close my eyes to spell words out loud. The Spelling Bee was never gonna be my strong point.

I won my 3rd grade spelling bee with the word “orange”. I’m pretty sure “orange” wouldn’t even be on the spelling bee word list now…I think my kindergartener is expected to know how to spell that one!

I was 2nd grade spelling bee champ. I was just talking to D about this last night and he said he was too. Something we didn’t know about eachother. It was funny. Way to go Luc~ that is a dumb word. That eo oe nonsense… oh and Donuts can always cheer me up!!!!

Ha! She definitely doesn’t get her spelling talent from me – someone who relies heavily on spell check (which curiously did not pick up a misspelled “mispell”)

Sheesh, I have to feel superior at SOMETHING, and spelling was a particular strength for me. Where has it gotten me? Very few places!
