Goodbye Hair

by This is Carrie on June 14, 2010

Princess has been wanting to cut her hair short for a while now. I talked her into growing it a little longer so she could cut off enough to donate to Locks of Love. After her 7 month fundraiser benefiting kids with cancer, it was a pretty easy sell. Every few weeks for the last couple months we’d get the ruler out and measure to see how close she was getting.  Last week, it was finally time.

Princess’s best friend’s dad (who happens to be a hairstylist at a goregous hair salon overlooking all of orange county) treated her to the 10″ cut and fabulous new style.  It was definitely a day she will never forget.

I’m so proud of you and your good heart, Princess. And you look absolutely beautiful with your new cut and style. (As if you could be anything but beautiful.) But it’s what is inside that really counts! Love you.

So cool! I love her new look! I just made my 4th donation to them a couple weeks ago.

“I donated 10 inches to Locks of Love and even though I got a mega-cute haircut out of it, I heard later on that Locks of Love is actually quite corporate and SELLS their wigs and uses very little of the hair for wigs for cancer patients. They’ve been only just recently investigated by the Better Business Bureau. There are MUCH better places to donate your hair to that will actually use your hair for needy cancer patients.”

That is so awesome! I would like to do the same for my little daughter. I just need to convince Dad that it’s OK to cut her hair! Way to go! Adorable hair cut for an adorable little girl!
Have a great week!
Love, Brenda

That is so funny, my daughter just did the same thing. I also wanted to say that your daughter inspired mine to raise money to help kids in hospitals here in FL. She is so excited about it and can’t wait to get started. 🙂

That is so awesome – so proud of her! I usually grow my hair in the winter and cut it short in the summer, however, this year I’ve decided against it in an attempt to grow it out so I can donate it as well! Every time it gets hot and drives me crazy, I think of how much someone will love to have all this hair on their head!

I absolutely adore that she understands giving to others at such a young age. I hope to teach my daughter (age 2) and future children the same. What a great example she is to other children! And her hair is so darling short!!

She has the best heart, she really does. And wow, she is so beautiful – that cut really suits her. Love it – what a wonderful experience – she’ll never forget it. Great job, Princess!

So cute! You should keep the before and after pics in a keepsake place for her. Really sweet pictures.
