I’ve heard people call them “Sex Parties”, but ours was know as the “It’s a…” party. Not a soul knew the sex of the baby save the ultrasound technician who “checked the box” on the pre-made card before sealing it up tight (if you must know, I fell asleep during the majority of the ultrasound which Todd says highlights the difference between having your first and your fourth child).
We held an informal BBQ for friends, family and neighbors with tons of food, hydrangeas from the yard, a guessing game with a candy prize, and a brainstorming sheet for baby names (my favorites: “Magnus Thuglor” and “Princess Leia”). Some of our friends surprised us by bringing cute pink & blue question mark cupcakes (with the alternating color cake inside) as their potluck dessert which totally added to the ambience.
We kept ourselves and our invited guests in suspense for a while until we finally decided it was time to rip open the envelope to finally reveal the sex of baby #4.

You can tell I want to have another baby by the fact that video made me cry! I have two girls and a boy now and can’t help but feel my little guy needs a brother. Congrats…those two boys will be the best of friends!

oh that is so awesome! Congrats again! Our son’s name is Magnus so if it grows on you…. That is great way to let everyone know of the gender.
Pumpkin’s reaction is priceless.
So cute! 🙂 I’m not sure I’d have the patience to wait until a party, but what a fantastic way to share the excitement!
I have a feeling this is going to be one super active boy – he may run before he walks
Congratulations!
