Brian Head Vacation Recap: The Campfire

by This is Carrie on August 22, 2010

One of the best parts about our rented cabin was the great fire pit in the woods right outside.  We got to enjoy some the best parts about camping–roasting marshmallows, hot dogs and biscuits–while still getting to sleep in comfortable beds.

Brian Head Vacation Recap: The First Ride

by This is Carrie on August 20, 2010

The Dark Hollow ride starts at 11,000 ft elevation and drops a vertical mile over 12 miles of rocky trail. From utahmountainbiking.com: “After a couple of miles on the surface volcanic deposit, you’ll drop through an area of intrusive igneous rock (granite), before cruising through pink dirt of the Claron formation.”  What does that mean […]

Brian Head Vacation Recap: The Location

by This is Carrie on August 19, 2010

by This is Carrie on August 17, 2010

The American Girl doll craze started in our home almost two year ago, but I’ve somehow managed to avoid actually taking the girls to an American Girl Doll store.  That’s why it was such a treat for Princess to attend tea at the AG store in NYC with her very best friend and her favorite […]

Making Stuff: Bow Shirt from Men’s Dress Shirt Refashion

by This is Carrie on August 16, 2010

When Todd threw his old brown and pink, long-sleeved dress shirt in the “to be donated” pile I promptly pulled it out knowing it’s life was not over yet. The style, a simple sleeveless tunic with bow, was inspired from a japanese made shirt I found a while back for Princess. I used the existing […]

A Mommy-Daughter Date

by This is Carrie on August 15, 2010

While Princess was busy exploring the real Times Square, I surprised Pumpkin with a mommy-daughter day trip to Legoland where we explored a mini Times Square made entirely from Legos (among a million other things made from Legos).  It’s not often our middle child gets complete attention from mom as well as complete control over […]
