The party was held in the evening to try to escape the heat of the august day. The invitation instructed guests to come with dinner in their bellies, but with enough room for lots of fairy treats:
Fairy Berry Salad with Edible Rose Petals (a crowd favorite)
Button Mushroom Cookies (thank you mom for making these)
Clementine Oranges
Herbed Cheese and Seeded Crackers
Fairy Bread (using homemade bread thanks to a dear friend)
And to drink:
Lavender Lemonade (made with our backyard lemons and lavender). Throwing in a handful of floating gumpaste flowers (graciously brought over by the wonderful Kristin of Meringue Bake Shop) made the delicious drink even more appealing to our little fairy guests.
Finally, the cupcakes from Bake You Happy. They were as delicious as they were gorgeous.
And did you know that in England, cupcakes are called “Fairy Cakes?” Perfect.

Oh my gosh!!!! So cute!!! What a beautiful set up! Yet another reason I wish I had a girl instead of two boys. 🙂
Everything was done to true Carrie fashion!! Amazing! You put us “other” moms to shame!!! 🙂

I really, really love the mushroom cookies!!! So freakin’ awesome!!! I used to read your blog religiously, before baby! LOL And it is so rare I get time now, to catch up on yours, and several other worthy blogs… And even when I do, I NEVER take the time to comment!
So I just wanted to take a minute, and tell you that I really enjoy all the creative things you post! Keep up the good work, and sooner or later, I’ll be back to catch up again!!!
