“Did You Run Fast?”

by This is Carrie on October 18, 2010

When I walked in the door Saturday night decked out in my Sparkle Athletic running skirt outfit, Baby Brother immediately yelled out “Did you run fast Mom?”

I wish.

With 4 weeks left until the baby comes, running at any speed is pretty much impossible.

The truth is, I spent all day promoting Team Sparkle with business partners Kelly and Elise at our first race expo in Long Beach.  While racing is exciting, we realized working to build our team with awesome women (and men) who are ready to put the fun in their run with a sparkle running skirt, is also pretty exciting.

These skirts are so fun and flirty. I am in a moms running group and I’ll have to chat the ladies up to see if they’d want to where these for a race day.

You guys will have an awesome race wearing these skirts because the only thing better than one person running in a Team Sparkle skirt is a whole group of people running in Team Sparkle skirts. It’s such a cool experience.

$25 dollars for a flimsy one-size-fits-all piece of sequined fabric? Seriously? I appreciate the bond and excitement they create but think maybe you should consider lowering the prices.

Oh man, I wish they were one size fits all. That would’ve saved us a lot of money in production! Hopefully someday we’ll be able to lower the cost of the skirts –maybe when we are HUGE and we’re able to manufacture overseas. But, for now we’re happy with our “Made in the USA” label and all the women who have supported our company.

Yay for (half) marathon goals! Seattle is a beautiful one. Hopefully by that time next year I’ll be ready for a half again too. Thanks for the compliment–means a lot at the end when I am feeling so large and uncomfortable. 🙂

I’ve missed reading this blog for awhile this year due to a change in browser/bookmark issues. You look great for being only 4 weeks away! One of my girl’s birthdays is Nov 17! Looking back now, I can’t imagine how you ran those crazy races in the spring. That was you…wasn’t it? This isn’t one of those team blogs, is it? Enjoy the next 4 weeks!

I love your display. And for being 4 weeks away, well, you are inspirational darlin’ 🙂

And I for one, think the price is spot on for 1)labor, 2)materials and 3)fit.
