Making Stuff: Crochet Baby Hat

by This is Carrie on October 28, 2010

After my first “failed” attempt at crocheting something cute for the baby, I came across the pattern for this Big Button Cap and decided it was perfect for the baby boy.

Pattern: Easy Big Button Cap from Little Projects. The pattern is for an adult cap, but using a finer yarn and a smaller hook shrunk it down quickly. I did need to add 2 more increase rows & about seven more straight rows at the end to get it the (hopefully) right size.

Yarn: Naturally Caron Country in Charcoal

Hook: US H8/5mm

This is a darling pattern. I wish I could find the cute patterns you do when I’m looking. I was looking for cap patterns when we were crocheting them for a humanitarian project and never found any that were so cute.

If you don’t know what to do with the girly sweater, I’m having a girl right after you! 🙂
