Adventures in Mountain Biking

by This is Carrie on January 25, 2011

They let me pick the trail so I guess I’m to blame for the adventure we had.  It started off with me forgetting my helmet (that’s when you know it’s been too long since your last ride). Then, unbeknownst to me, the recent bad weather had all but washed away the trail.  If I wasn’t going to abandon this ride because of my forgotteen helmet, I sure wasn’t going to abandon it because of a missing trail.  Elise, Kelly and I had been dying to ride together and doggone it, we were going to ride.

No fewer than 6 stream crossings, 3 barbed wire dodgings, 3 cliff droppings and 1 “No Trespassing Sign” later, we finally found the trail and finished the 7 mile ride (at least half of which we had to walk, wade or climb).

Now that we’ve survived, I can’t think of a more memorable biking adventure, perfect for our first “Girls Ride” of the season and my first ride post-baby.

Where did you go? All the trials we’ve tried have been closed. I am a beginninger but I’d love to hit the trails with girls instead of a bunch of guys… hint, hint… 😉

The trail was in Ladera and I’m pretty sure it was closed but there were no signs where we dropped in. You totally have to cone with us!! Love having more girls to ride with. Next time we’ll give you a call.
