Even with the warmer than average winter weather we’ve been having, The Baby has gotten a lot of wear out of the first crochet hat I made him, so I decided to make him another cute little hat. Like most of my crochet projects lately, it took a few tries to get it just right.
Pattern: Newborn Button Strap Newsboy Cap from Polka Dot Posh
Hat #1: LOVED how this one turned out but it was a titch too small for a 2mo old. Perfect for a brand new baby.
Yarn- Lion Brand Natures Choice in Spice, Hook- L (8.00mm), Buttons – vintage woven leather taken off an old jacket
Hat #2: This one came out the right size but was the stitches turned out more open creating a “lacy” look which I found was cuter for the new baby girl down the street.
Yarn- Caron Spa Yarn in Naturally, Hook- L (8.00mm), Buttons – Natural Wood
Hat #3 - This one turned out just right.
Yarn- Lily Sugar ‘n’ Cream in Country Green Hook- L (8.00mm), Buttons – Natural Wood
Note: All yarn was used two strands at a time

I have that same hat pattern and it didn’t quite fit my 6 week old. What did you do to adjust it? Thanks.

A change of yarn helped for the slight increase around I needed, but I also added 2 more rows at the end (before the brim) to get the proper depth to the hat.

Sorry, but I do not sell them. I only provide a free pattern for non-commercial use.
