Quoteable

by This is Carrie on February 23, 2011

I was so flattered when Jordan of Polkadot Prints asked if she could turn a quote I made in an interview with Created by Chicks (over a year ago!) into a print.   The entire quote, “Comparison is the enemy to creativity. Be inspired but be yourself,” came about because I’d often find myself obsessed with having to know what all the other creative people were doing around the internets.  Not only did I waste a lot of creative time, I soon realized it was paralyzing my own creativity.  Thanks to Jordan I now have a beautiful reminder of my creative philosophy to hang in my creative space.

THIS IS COMPLETELY TRUE!.. and now I’m even MORE inspired by you!!! I have found myself doing EXACTLY what you explain here: “I’d often find myself obsessed with having to know what all the other creative people were doing around the internets. Not only did I waste a lot of creative time, I soon realized it was paralyzing my own creativity.”

Thank you FOR this JOLTING reminder that i have it IN me… and i need to celebrate my own creativity even more!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Wow, I completely relate. I definitely need to get this for my sewing nook. What a wonderful quote and beautiful display. Thanks!

That is FABULOUS! Thank you for the reminder. I ofter feel the same. Comparing myself to others just reminds me of all my insecurities. Love it!

Yep I totally feel that way. I think I’ve almost even stopped sewing due to all the negativity and it bringing me down. But now I feel renewed! Thanks
