Trying to decide if I should run my first race in #vibrams tomorrow. It's just a small, church-sponsored 5K so I think it might be perfect. # Don't know if there is a more perfect race in which to rock a red @runteamsparkle skirt than a Fourth of July 5K! Happy4th everyone! #run # Can't […]

Summer Fun: Swimming Lessons

by This is Carrie on July 8, 2011

One of the highlights of summer is Park & Rec swim lessons.  The lessons are not only fun and effective, there’s no better bang for your buck. Brother likes to keep his teacher on her toes and my heart in my throat.

by This is Carrie on July 7, 2011

After making a bunch of Beaded T-shirt Bracelets , we still had a rainbow of “fabric noodles” and pony beads left to play with Princess came up these fun and simple hippie headbands (which have become so popular among the neighborhood kids, she’s made a few bucks selling them). Summer Fun: Popcorn Tasting

by This is Carrie on July 6, 2011

It all started when Todd said he thought the cheap popcorn in a bag was not nearly as good as the more expensive Orville Redenbacher popcorn in a bottle.  I picked up a couple more fancy bottles of popcorn from Target, invited over the neighbor kids and held a blind taste test of popcorns and […]

With all the necessary gear, sometimes a trip to the beach with four kids can get overwhelming but on this particular trip, I decided to try a minimalist approach. I brought: 3 towels, sunscreen, […]

Into the Woods

by This is Carrie on July 2, 2011

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods is by far the most challenging musical the girls have been a part of.  In my humble opinion, the high school kids who played the lead roles did an amazing job.  And in my totally unbiased opinion, Princess was fantastic as one of Cinderella’s little […]

by This is Carrie on July 1, 2011

When you’ve got good friends and a good light, a night ride isn’t that scary at all.
