Making Stuff: FrankenSweater {vintage sweater refashion}

by This is Carrie on May 1, 2012

I have an affinity for embroidered sweaters from the 70’s with motifs that usually include dogs, cats, mice and mushrooms. If you are lucky enough to find one for less than $20, grab it. I found this one at a local vintage shop for $19 so I swooped it right up.

To update the sweater, I replaced the sleeves with blouse sleeves I removed from a $2 thrift store purchase and the Frankensweater was born.

Okay can we have a serious talk here? You have to try out for Project Runway. Here is why: You know how to do Womens Ready to Wear (obviously) and you are a rockstar at sewing/design. You can work at a fast pace (this is key to winning the show). You have the personality for the show (aka People will love you including Heidi and Michael). ALSO you will get to be in NYC with ME for at least a couple of weeks!!!!!!!!!

CAN YOU SERIOUSLY JUST GO TO THE PR AUDITION?? For me?
