Back in December I had a friend ask me about making this adorable, knitted baby turban. As my knitting skills are limited to simple scarf making, I decided to try to create something similar with crochet.
After much trial and error, using different hooks and different yarns, making hats that were too big and too small, I finally created a crocheted baby turban I really love from Martha Stewart Extra Soft Wool Blend yarn.
Then it took me a few more months actually write down the crochet pattern (I’m no pattern writer) with the help of some friends and bloggers who tested it out for me.
I must credit Linda Made for the creative rib stitch I learned while making the boy’s vest from her book, Little Crochet (a book I highly recommend). And thanks to Chelsey, Kristy, Alyssa, Libby, and especially Emily who tested the pattern and gave me great feedback.

I ask that people do not use my pattern for profit.
