Making Stuff: Crochet Baby Turban & Pattern

by This is Carrie on July 23, 2012

Back in December I had a friend ask me about making this adorable, knitted baby turban. As my knitting skills are limited to simple scarf making, I decided to try to create something similar with crochet.

After much trial and error, using different hooks and different yarns, making hats that were too big and too small, I finally created a crocheted baby turban I really love from Martha Stewart Extra Soft Wool Blend yarn.

Then it took me a few more months actually write down the crochet pattern (I’m no pattern writer) with the help of some friends and bloggers who tested it out for me.

I must credit Linda Made for the creative rib stitch I learned while making the boy’s vest from her book, Little Crochet (a book I highly recommend). And thanks to Chelsey, Kristy, Alyssa, Libby, and especially Emily who tested the pattern and gave me great feedback.

Do you allow those who use the pattern to sell the finished pieces?

Hello, Neat post. There is a problem together with your web site in web explorer,
would check this? IE still is the marketplace leader and a huge part of other folks will pass over your fantastic
writing because of this problem.
