I spent last night refashioning with a group of teenage girls from church. The best item (and only thing that was fully completed by the end of the night) was this XXL men’s sweatshirt turned into a more girlish sweatshirt. I love the tiny pocket.
I also loved that they all thought I was a lot younger than I actually am. So nice to hear after my minor freak-out about turning 30 this year.

what a cool activity. Wish you’d come to our ward.
Did you bring items like the XXL sweatshirt to refashion, so you knew what you were going to do? Or did the girls bring unexpected items?
I’m wondering if I could do something like this. I’ve got a couple girls in YW.
I told the girls to bring things from their closet they never wore anymore. We talked about how we could change them, combine them, embellish them and some projects got started and this one was the only one that got finished. We could have used a few more sewers to help the girls implement their ideas. This is the second time I’ve done an activity like this (two different wards) and each time it has been completely different and totally fun.
You could narrow it down and each have them bring an old large T-shirt. You could make pants, pillows, bags, fitted t-shirts, etc.
