Even though it wasn’t gifted to me (unless I count it as a gift to myself), I must add this last item to my list of great gifts for the sewing enthusiast. Ruth Singer’s Sewing Bible is a wonderful resource full of pictorial sewing techniques for the beginner and “masterclass” tutorials for the pro. It’s jam packed with great information similar to all my old sewing reference books, but flipping though it’s pages you quickly realize it’s full of eye candy as well.

Thanks for the recommendation! My mom and sissy are both sewers, and I NEVER know what to get them!
i need to check this out!
i’m trying to finish a Super Why costume for Leland’s 3rd B-day party tomorrow and a little instruction would be great:O)
I LOVED this book! It was great as a beginner sewer to have such a wonderful reference book to start out with and learn from at my own pace. Excellent recommendation!
You’ve replaced the old Reader’s Digest and it looks like I may also since my binding has split in 3 places and I spilled iron water on it many times. Thanks for the tip – I’ll look into it
How did I miss this one? It looks great! (just ordered it from amazon–couldn’t resist–plus I need eye candy relief from all this moving nonsense).
