My sister, who began the tradition of “The Run”, all alone, many years ago, hasn’t been able to participate in the tradition the past few years because of a knee injury. But this year, on the cusp of possible knee replacement surgery, she threw caution to the wind and ran it “one last time”, finishing the 9+ mile run to cheers from the family and a hot breakfast prepared by Dad (Grandpa).

Thanks for the heads up. 🙂
I can still remember her first solo run many years ago and how proud I was to see run into camp that Saturday morning exclaiming “I made it Dad.” That perserverance has serverd well over the years. I think it runs strong in the family. This year there were over a dozen that made the 9 mile up-hill challenge, some for the first time. And Yes, “they all made it”. …. It’s the “waiting breakfast” that motivates.
