This weekly race series is one of our favorite parts of summer. Mountain bikers of all ages and skill levels turned out for the opening night of the Over the Hump Mountain Bike summer race series. Four out of the six of us raced along with a record number turnout. 
In a black Team Sparkle skirt and Team Poseidon jersey, I was loyal to both my teams as I sloshed through the deep mud which made parts of the course seem more like a cyclocross race. The kids race was extremely short (they tried to keep them out of the mud) and the finish was a little crazy so finish times weren’t recorded. Not that they cared too much.
Results:
Todd: 42:46 — 20th out of 76 (finishing in the top 30% means he came home with a “trophy” glass!)
Carrie: 51:39 12th out of 26 (top half!)
Princess: relieved that she avoided the multiple bike crash around the first corner.
Pumpkin: thrilled that she wasn’t last.

My husband is racing the series too. I saw the sparkly skirts and immediately recognized them. Go Team Sparkle!
