I’ve had this old, designer, size 6 pattern pinned up on my sewing inspiration board since Princess was 6. She’s 10 now. I decided to take it to Sewing Summit as one of my late night sewing projects since Pumpkin is 7 and is almost too big for it too.
Pumpkin picked out this sweet dot from my fabric stash (an M&L steal from ages ago at 2.98 a yard)
It was far more complicated than I had planned on (I don’t think I’ve sewn a placket since college and I’m very particular about getting the piping set in just right) but I got it finished after 2 nights of sewing. If only I could get Pumpkin to love it as much as I do so it doesn’t sit in the closet and collect dust before it gets too small, I’d consider the project a huge success.

Very cute! I have so many patterns for things to make for Scarlett that I have been procrastinating on. Hoping I can work on them this month!
If you made me a dress like that I guarantee it would not collect dust in my closet. I think it’s perfect!
what perfect fabric for such a vintage/retro dress. she has great taste- like her mama! i hope she grows to love it!
ps- i giggled when you said that it was complicated and took you 2 nights to finish… something like that would have taken me 2 years! (if it involves more than straight lines and right angles, I’m toast!)
That is the cutest outfit. I love the fabric. Please tell Pumpkin she looks awesome and I said she should like it more
Great dress!! You have a great lil model on your hands!
What kind of shoes is she wearing! We want some 🙂
Cheers,
Kere
This is the cutest! I am going to have to track down a pattern and make one. I LOVE it!! Good choice in fabric too 🙂

Where are her shoes from? And do you ever list your used girl clothes on ebay? I love this gem. I have 4 girls and live in OC too.
I have the same challenge with my girl! Such a sad thing… I hope your Pumpkin decides she loves it. Mine sometimes decides about ayear later, just when it’s all too short!
Those shoes! That dress! The glasses!! I’m dying.
