When I first spotted the eyelet trimmed, red gingham skirt at my favorite vintage thrift store, I loved it. When I saw this label inside, I loved it even more. So did Princess.
Rather than altering the “too big” waist down to fit her, we realized pairing it with a favorite old embroidered shirt (which had been sadly stained with chocolate milk) made it into a perfect south of the border, cowgirl dress.
Just one seam right around the middle and a little red grosgrain ribbon for a belt.

Adorable. This brings to mind a question: what do you do with your refashioned and made clothes when the kids are too big for them?

I love it! Even now that I am old, my favorite dresses are and have been ones my mom made for me. gingham was always a favorite.
