Two weeks ago, I tore a chunk out of the top of my toe while running barefoot up cement stairs. It’s a “stubbed toe” to the 100th degree. After a week and a half of wearing only flip flops (because having anything touching that raw toe felt like a knife going up my leg), I got sick of missing morning boot camp & my Hood to Coast training runs. That’s when I pulled out an old pair of running shoes and my nice sharp scissors and made myself some shoes I can work out in.
