Making Stuff: Shorts to Skirt

by This is Carrie on July 25, 2008

When I spotted this pair of boys pinstripe pirate shorts a while back the first thing I thought was “how cute would those be if they were a girls skirt with embroidered flowers instead of boys shorts” (still adjusting to being a mom of a boy I guess). While the skirt refashioning got finished shortly […]

A quiet evening on the trail. Riding, sweating, laughing and getting dirty with the girls. Get your head out of the gutter, boys. 🙂

Throw in a couple hot dogs roasted over the fire and this campout meal couldn’t get much more satisfying. It’s a perfect meal to make ahead of time and heat up the first night at camp. Want a vegetarian chili? This one is YUMMY! Ingredients: 2 pounds lean ground beef 1 1/2 cups chopped onion […]

Last Day of Summer

by This is Carrie on July 21, 2008

Our year-round school starts today. Last Friday the girl at Office Depot reminded us that it was our last day of summer and told us we should be spending it at the beach. So I called up DH at work and we met him at Ruby’s at the end of the pier for dinner.

Camping Recap Part 9: The Slide

by This is Carrie on July 20, 2008

Pumpkin couldn’t stop talking about going down the campground waterslides with her cousins on our last day at camp. When I saw the sign “Riders must be 3 years old”, we decided to hold an impromptu birthday party for her while waiting in line to buy our tickets. As confusion turned to excitement (“I’m three! […]
