Just Hangin’ Around

by This is Carrie on September 14, 2008

I remember when my dad helped teach me how to hang by my knees from our backyard jungle gym. When Princess said she had learned the very same trick at school, I couldn’t help but wonder at what point did she trust that she could indeed let go and not fall on her head.

Patriot Day

by This is Carrie on September 14, 2008

I was pleasantly surprised when Princess’ school held a short program commemorating September 11th. I felt the simple theme of gratitude that was presented was perfect for elementary school aged children.

Pedals for Progress

by This is Carrie on September 13, 2008

How can I not love a non-profit that collects my two loves– bicycles and sewing machines for distribution to people in need all over the world. A bike or a sewing machine can make all the difference for man or woman trying to survive and thrive in a developing country.

Heaven knows I love me some freezer paper stenciling, but coming up with the images seems to always be a chore. Now that I have been introduced to dafont.com my freezer paper stenciling life has changed. The “dingbats” fonts have perfect stenciling images (and all the amazing free fonts are pretty exciting too).

by This is Carrie on September 8, 2008

Sticking with the art-themed birthday celebrations around our house, the girls received this awesome cardboard box playhouse from a dear friend. It has provided hours of entertainment over the last week as each and every piece of white space gets decorated.
