It was my niece, brenbot, who first convinced me to try an Xterra race. During that first race, I saw her as we first dove into the water and not again until the finish line (she left me in the dust).
During this race, we saw each other in transition after the swim, when we both stopped to help someone with a flat tire and then again during the run when she gave me a few words of encouragement before blowing past me and onto the finish line. It was awesome.

I’m super bummed – they don’t have my bike or run split times posted. I must not have run over the mat. Kind of cool that they timed our transitions too.
