Making Stuff: Christmas Dress #1

by This is Carrie on December 23, 2009

Wasn’t sure what direction I was going with this year’s Christmas dresses until I came across two old Christmas tablecloths and a green crocheted poncho at my favorite local thrift store last week (and all were 50% off). I pulled out an old crocheted top from my box of maternity clothes and I had what I needed.
Theme for this year: easy, casual and cheap
(mama had too many other projects on her plate).

I made it even easier on myself by cutting the ruffle on the bias and forgoing the hem all together.

And with the Sunday before Christmas temping out at 80 degrees, no jackets were required.

This is adorable! Great job! I never knew about this thrift. I sense a field trip in our future?

Amazing! I would never in a million years think to do that!

Wowee! 50% off of Christmas stuff before Christmas? That's great!

Just darling and the tie to match is so stinkin' adorable!! Great job and so much prettier/craftier/cooler than a store-bought holiday "ensemble" : )
