Against my better judgment, I let the girls purchase Baby Alive dolls with their birthday money. In about 2.5 seconds, they had both soaked the one disposable diaper included with each doll and were begging for more diapers for their naked doll tushies.
2.5 seconds after that, I found this tutorial for baby doll cloth diapers and by the end of the day each doll was dressed in a new, reusable, flannel diaper.
I tweaked the pattern a bit to make it fit our specific dolls and added an extra “soaker” layer because our babies “really wet.” Yippee.
If you happen to have the same doll, I uploaded the tweaked pattern HERE. Tutorial can be found HERE.

You must keep in mind my girls have been wanting these dolls since Christmas 2008. There was no way I (or santa) was going to purchase them. But when they get birthday money/gift cards from others, I find it harder to dictate what they can pick and what they can’t.
What a great idea! I’ve made diapers for our dolls before, but I didn’t even think of them for the dolls that actually wet. 🙂
Yay for cloth diapers!
I can’t get your link for the tweaked pattern to work. It’s taking me to the Hasbro site.

Thanks for the heads up annette. It’s all fixed now!
This is so great! Can’t wait to make them!
wanted to send a quick thank you for the tutorial. Although I used your ideas, I changed it up a bit to fit our little Baby alive and my little girls needs. But it was your basic Idea that got me going…feel free to take a peak. I did link back to ya.
Thanks Again.
