We saw a hermit crab, a starfish, a seal, a tarantula, wild turkeys, a family of deer, an ugly Jerusalem cricket, a handful of blue-bellied lizards, dozens of squirrels, and millions of yellow jackets (see all the photos here).
The yellow jackets loved Princess the most resulting in a total of three stings. The worst being the one that hid in her footed pajamas and waited until she was all zipped up before making his presence known.

Oh my gosh – OUCH!!!!!!!! Poor Princess.
EEEK!
I found a nest (or whatever) of yellow jackets here the other day. They are in a hole in the ground out by the apple tree. Almost stepped right in them.
My dad kept bees when I was little and the only bite I ever got was on my foot, from one that had gotten into the kitchen and swatted but not killed.
That is so sad! Poor girl.
oh…I was so jealous of your camping trip…until this post. I HATE BEES!!!!
The bees were uncharacteristically bad this year. Some of the boys made these cool traps out of converted plastic soda bottles, juice and honey which helped a lot.
