The girls and I had our first field gleaning experience with the local food bank yesterday. With Baby Brother in the backpack, we picked, planted and quickly realized how hard it is to be a farmer. I even have the blisters on my hands to prove it.

My dad has always had a HUGE garden in our backyard (at least 1 acre), and I can attest that it is hard, hard work! I always had callused hands in the fall.
