Making Stuff: Crocheted Baby Cap with Brim

by This is Carrie on October 9, 2008

I have been trying to craft for cooler weather but with temperatures still in the 90’s it’s been really hard. I did manage to crochet a little beanie cap with brim for baby brother. I’ve seen the style floating around for a while and was able to mix a little freestyle double crochet cap and […]

Growing Food is Hard Work

by This is Carrie on October 8, 2008

The girls and I had our first field gleaning experience with the local food bank yesterday. With Baby Brother in the backpack, we picked, planted and quickly realized how hard it is to be a farmer. I even have the blisters on my hands to prove it.

Highlights from the 70’s Creative Crafts Book

by This is Carrie on October 7, 2008

This doily wall art is fantastic. Someday I will make one of my own. And this wooly ride-on lamb covered with electric blue shag carpet couldn’t scream “I am a craft project from the 70’s!” any louder.from Better Homes & Gardens Creative Crafts & Stitchery circa 1976

Making Stuff: Christmas Frames

by This is Carrie on October 3, 2008

Thanks to my crafty friend Kelly for introducing me to antiqued mod podge picture frames. My plan is to make enough to display every years “Santa picture” during the Christmas season. Now I just need to wait for the craft stores to get more/better Christmas paper.

Roller Toaster

by This is Carrie on October 1, 2008

Pumpkin rode her first “roller toaster” this week during our family trip to Disneyland. I was positive she would chicken out at the last minute but somehow DH talked her into sitting down and strapping in. And guess what, to her (and our) surprise, she loved it. She continued to explain how fun it was […]
