Too Much Halloween Candy

Celebrating the Day of the Dead

This year, the girls especially wanted to remember Nana in hopes her spirit might come for a little visit. We stacked the shrine with her some of her favorite things to eat and drink (cinnamon toast and heavy cream) and talked about our favorite memories.

Fresh Start – Garden

I finally got around to tearing out the sad remains of the summer garden so I could plant the new “cold weather” plants. Here in Southern CA, that means a ton of lettuce, some cabbage, brocolli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, carrots, beats, and snap peas. I even found a cold weather tomato plant called “Siberia”. Making Stuff: Calaveras Skirts

I couldn’t pass up this Calaveras fabric when I spotted it at the store. Now the girls had something to wear today for our Dia de los Muertos “festivities”. We pulled out this onesie for Baby Brother too.
