A while back I e-mailed my dad this photo from a popular catalog. A few weeks later we got these:
I finally got them hung on the wall over each girl’s bed and the floor is much cleaner because of it. Thanks Dad.

Wow – I wish my Dad was handy like that! actually I wish my husband was too.
You know when you are use to just dreaming something up and making it, it is frustrating when you don’t know how to make it. That is how I am with word working. I’m always dreaming up ‘simple alterations’ for various pieces of furniture but unfortunately you need not only skills but also tools.
I think it looks better than the catalog
I’ve been looking for something like that for months and contemplated making one. Looks like a great design! Cool dad.
it’s perfect….i was eying one in a pottery barn for kids catalogue that was like $500(not really….but everything is so overpriced!)
Can I borrow your Dad?
Wow! I think I may have to let my husband know that he’d win some major points by building me some of those… but I want one for MY bed too!!
YES, that is totally awesome. Nice job, dad 🙂
I’m thinking I should send this picture to my dad to make for my girls. It’s a great idea.
Thanks for sharing
Wow, that’s awesome. I’m going to show that to my dad. My boys would love that. That way they can keep their favorite books right at arms reach instead of out on the bookshelf in the playroom.
I’ve been coveting this shelf for years, I’m so jealous! Perhaps I should just make one myself…
I showed this blog to Dad. He doesn’t just log on to your blog everyday like I do. You should have seen the big smile come on his face. I’ll have to show him all of the comments today. That should really make him feel good. You would never believe that he has some lack of self esteem, but he does.
Those are awesome! What a brilliant idea.
