We’ve known there was an issue for a while. And now after seven long months of paperwork, testing, meetings and more testing, Pumpkin is finally enrolled in a speech therapy program. Luckily, her problem is not severe and the therapists hope to have her back on track by Kindergarten.

It’s so great you caught it early. I’m sure she’ll do great and love the attention.
She’s adorable! Mia is hard to understand as well but so far her teachers say they think it’s something she’ll grow out of…let’s hope so. If not, i’ll be calling you to get info about speech therapy.
Yay! I KNOW what a personal hill that is to climb with the school district. Hooray for getting her help that she deserves.
Hmm, my 3 1/2 year old’s teacher suggested a visit with a speech therapist for an evaluation. I’m not concerned and not in any rush to take her but then again I may be in denial. I need to do some research on the topic…
Koala brains – our ped. and preschool teachers and the school district told us to stop worrying (and we’re not the worrying type) about her speech. But seeing how frustrated she got when people couldn’t understand her made us go forward with the testing. I’m glad we did. I’m hopeful that everything will be worked out before Kindergarten.
Just be prepared for a long and arduous process.
