A new friend invited the me and the kids over to make bread.
It was a totally engaging activity from activating the yeast, to grinding the wheat to mixing & kneading the dough.

The fun continued when we took out a portion of the dough after the first rise to make cookie cutter bread. Cooked on low in a greased pan, the little flat breads were an immediate treat slathered with butter and jam.

Kitchen science can be fun! I love that even the wheat was ground. I have been coveting a mill for the front of my Kitchen Aid for some time.
