It’s amazing how much you can fit into a weekend away when it’s just you–no kids, no husband, no diapers, no whining, no bedtime, no rush.
The weekend “alone” in Utah began with the
Startup Princess Touchpoint Conference surrounded by amazing women entrepreneurs. It was a fab day of workshops, speakers, and networking.
One of my goals for the day was to meet the talented keynote speaker,
Heather Bailey, and try to approach her in a way that didn’t make me seem stalker-ish. We went to college together (me a freshman admiring her senior coolness), adore all things vintage and refashioning, named our daughters the same, and both have miniature schnauzers. But you just can’t lead with all that stuff.
Too weird.
Rachael Herrscher of Today’s Mama, Allison Czarnecki of Petit Elefant, Carrie Lundell of This is Me Publishing (that’s me!), Kelly Lewis of According to Kelly and Just Spotted
Me again, Justine Green (aka Princess Amerah) of Chocolate Covered Entertainment, and Marcel Walker of Photographica.
I had some fun chats with Heather Bailey throughout the day but tried to play it cool so there are no pictures. But when it comes to blogs, if there isn’t a picture, it might as well’ve never happened, right?
I must say, she has the grace, kindness and humility to match her talent. Her keynote address, Creativity in Life and Business, was the highlight of the entire conference.

Hope you got to meet her. ๐
Er, you could have said, "Hey, I know somebody who grew up in Phoenix!"
That would have been totally cool and not random at all.
I believe you ๐
I loved what you said about Heather Bailey! She commented on my blog one time, and I almost screamed–it was like seeing a celebrity in the grocery store or something. I'm sure I did a little dance ๐ Glad you got to meet her and talk with her!
You guys all look amazing!
