Halloween 09: Baby Brother as the Flying Monkey

by This is Carrie on November 2, 2009

The most difficult part of this costume was getting the ear placement just right so he didn’t look like an Ewok.
Luckily, I was able to purchase black wings and spray paint them gray to match.
And with a thread anchor, the tail was able to swing perfectly with his little toddler gait.
By this point he was already crashing from the sugar intake at pre-halloween parties and it was only 5:00pm.

Amazing costumes–both Elphaba and the flying Monkey. I love Wicked (the book) and I love. Both look too ambitious for words.

So jealous, I've tried for years to talk my boys into being flying monkeys, but they would never go for it! The costume is incredible!

Wow! So cute! We love doing themed costumes as a family every year, thinking of doing Oz this year, would you be willing to do a tutorial for this? My (soon to be) one year old will be the flying monkey and this is so darn cute!
