Plans are Overrated

by This is Carrie on June 17, 2010

You may have already heard me mention our news on twitter or facebook, but I’m finally getting around to it here, my final “social network”.

We have been lucky enough to plan all of our other kids, but this one came as a complete surprise.  With 2 triathlons, a 200 mile relay and a marathon on the spring racing schedule and a summer mountain biking vacation planned in Brian Head, fighting through fatigue and morning sickness while increasing my girth was definitely not in the plans.  Todd and I stared at that positive home pregnancy test the night before we left for the Fulsom Xterra Triathlon in disbelief.

But I just have to say, there is something to the spontaneity of this one’s appearance in our lives that has actually been quite fun even though the precious, quiet, naptime hours have been spent sleeping instead of sewing for these last few months.
