Princess requested an “End of the Summer Sewing Playdate” with a few of her closest girlfriends. How could I refuse?
Each of the four girls (3 who had never touched a sewing machine or an iron and ironing board before) spent an afternoon picking out the fabric (great way to use up my vintage sheet stash), cutting and sewing their own pair of pajamas. You gotta love a playdate where kids leave with new skills, confidence and a new pair of pants.

LOVE it! I’ve never made my own pj pants before- I’m thinking I should now. 😉
Love it! I’m hating to see sewing skills going the way of knitting and crocheting.

Love this! Okay so do you have a place that you usually go to to find vintage fabric or sheets? Thrift stores? ebay? help 🙂

You have inspired me to do something I have been wanting to do for several years now…
I am going to go get a sewing machine. By the end of the month, I will do this.
How neat! I can’t wait until my baby girl is old enough to sew. Goodness, what fun that must have been. Seriously.

What an awesome idea! I need to tune up my old machine so the kids can use it.
My parents had those green lattice sheets, by the way. They make snazzy pajamas.
I love this!! I hope someday my little boy gets the sewing bug and that he has some friends willing to try it too. I won’t hold my breath but it’s all I’ve got to work with so far. 😉
What a special memory for both of you!
What a great idea can’t wait to do that with my kids.
I was so inspired by your sewing party idea. I am having friends (who own machines but don’t know how to use them) bring over their machines to sew a project with me. I am excited! Thanks!
P.s. Cute jammies girls 🙂
