Tiny Vacation: Oceanside & The San Diego Zoo

by This is Carrie on April 10, 2012

When Grandma Joy calls up during spring break to say she’ll be spending some time in Oceanside (almost 2000 miles closer to use than she normally is), you can bet I threw the kids in the car, said goodbye to Todd (darn work) and headed down for a 2 day mini-vacation.

It was a completely relaxed couple of days spent on the beach and by the pool.  Doing it all with Grandma Joy made it even more enjoyable.

We spent one day at the San Diego Zoo, a place none of my kids have been since moving to California 6 years ago.

It’s an amazing zoo with “hands on” experiences lurking around every corner (even if you’d rather not touch).  We could’ve spent 3 more days there.

Where are those cute little red houses? Are they beach rentals? How were they? We live in Orange County, and San Diego would be a nice vacation spot on our limited budget. Thanks, jaimeolinger(at)yahoo(dot)com
