It’s not the way I would have arranged this nativity of ours, but I couldn’t help but find beauty in the way Princess crowded all the Christmas Story characters around the baby Jesus. There is no question as to where their attention is placed. Design aesthetics be darned–it will stay this way to remind our family of the true meaning of Christmas.

I love it.
The Girl and The Boy did the same thing with our nativity…they pulled in angels from somewhere else on our mantel and all the pinecones they could find and crowded them around Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus. At first I thought about moving everyone back to their places…but then realized they were in the most important place of all.
Thank goodness for the unfiltered perspective of children.
