Pumpkin has been planning her “Dog & Cat” birthday party for almost 2 years (we only do parties every other year in our family). After doing a little research, I found the perfect vintage book for inspiration, “The Gingham Dog and the Calico Cat.” It’s a funny little poem with a gruesome ending where the two animals eat each other up in the end. But the title was too cute to pass up.
The decorations were minimal for the backyard party, mostly consisting of every dog and cat stuffed animal gathered from our house and all the neighbors houses. There were cats in trees, piles of dogs on the picnic blankets and a special handmade Gingham Dog and Calico Cat for the food table.
