Xterra Sport Race-Lake Las Vegas
This race was awesomely difficult.
Based on the pre-race info sessions, my mantra was:
Swim Fast, Run Fast and Don’t Die on the Bike.
If it had been my first race, it might have been my last.
700m swim – I rocked it.

5k trail run (500+ ft of climbing) – I endured it.
Finish time 2:33:11
Melanie McQuaid, winner of the championship race (same course-twice the distance) said, “I thought this was one of the hardest XTERRA races ever.”
When asked if he had to get off his bike, Conrad Stoltz, male winner of the championship race said, “three times voluntarily and once involuntarily.”
Glad it wasn’t just me.

Congrats!
That’s awesome! Congratulations!
Nice job! That does look brutal, but fun too.
Crazy proud of you, girl 🙂 You deserve time to play with me in So Cal while I’m here!
WOW!
The fact that you are even able to do this AT ALL just blows me away. I would be dead in the water!
You DO rock!
Nice work chica!! So awesome that you did it without a lot of training time. Congrats!
excellent choice of words. proud.
Is there any question that you rock? No. Didn’t think so! My dd’s keep telling me how I should be more like you!
You are amazing! My sister and her husband were volunteers at that race…my sister was in a kayak 🙂 She said it looked super hard.
Well done!! Your report & enthusiasm helps inspire me to try Exterra. Looks like fun!
Thanks for all your kind words! I really hope if anyone out there even has the smallest inkling of wanting to do a triathlon, that you sign up and do it! I promise, you’ll be glad you did.
